What is Tweetcetera?
Tweetcetera is meant to look similar to Twitter web interface, so that
you don't need to learn
how to use a new website. But we
have added some nice features,
which we felt were missing from the original product.
You won't find any big revolutionary feature but we believe that big changes can come from small differences. To see what we mean by 'small differences', have a look at the details below. And if you're still not convinced, try it and we promise you'll never go back to using Twitter web interface (or so we hope!).
Real Time updates
Tired of reloading the whole page to read friends' updates?
To access your friends' updates with Twitter's web interface, you need to refresh the page. With Tweetcetera, your friends' tweets as well as your mentions and DMs are refreshed automatically every 3 minutes. Just click on the notification when you are ready to read them!
Nested conversations
It's all about conversations, why should they be hard to follow?
When a tweet has been sent in reply to another tweet, the phrase “in reply to...” appears next to the time info. Click on it and the initial tweet will be displayed, thus creating a real conversation!
Easy reply, retweet and messaging
Replies and retweets make Twitter what it is...
There are no hidden buttons in Tweetcetera. When you want to reply or send a direct message to someone or retweet something, click on the button just below the text and a box will be displayed for you to say what you want.
Direct access to your mentions & messages
Everything on the same page!
On Twitter's web interface, your mentions and DMs are displayed on different pages. Because we find it easier to have everything on the same page, you can read your mentions and direct messages on your home page.
No more misspelled usernames
Usernames are pre-written. No chance you'll misspell them!
When you view someone's page, the chat box is ready with their @username for you to send them a tweet. Nothing revolutionary there but nice to have, don't you think?
URL shortener
140 characters is short for a message.
Everyday millions of links are exchanged via Twitter and because 140 characters can be very short, we think it's essential to have an easy-to-use URL shortener available. With Tweetcetera, you just need add your link to the tweet, click on the button “shorten URLs” and job's done! How easier can it be?
